Fishing has been pretty good along Plum Island Sound. Areas along Middle Ground and Steep Hill are still producing fish. On the Salem side .. early morning school action is there but quick. The large surface feeds have really not begun just yet but there are a few popping sporadically. Small clousers, and flat wings are working well. Fish are holding in the rocks as well.. incoming tides have been better. The Danvers River has slowed a bit but again there are fish to be had on the incoming. Had a report this week of a massive herring feed near the candy house, hopefully some bass will find the smorgasbord. Good Luck and Tight Lines. - Matty
Reports are coming in. We are hearing that there are some schoolie stripers in the Danvers River working the incoming. Fish in the 20-24 inch range seem to be the size. Small white/chart 2"-3" patterns are doing it. Plum Island Sound is heating up with the schools as well. Good reports of breaking fish in the same size range. Black and Purple Puglisi's Early AM seems to have the bite going again on the incoming. It is definitely on so hopefully you can get out there!!!!
Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!!!
The Capefish Cup has started. We had a kickoff party last week and the fishing tournament started on 5/15. Jeff Sarcione is the early leader with a 18.5 inch striper. Gotta start somewhere.
So the first few Stripers have arrived here on the North Shore of Massachusetts. The Danvers River and The Parker River have had some fresh schoolies show up. A few were taken on the fly the other day as some reports start to trickle in. It is great to see the folks getting out there to get on the board for the 2014 season. Your typical small white flies or chartreuse or olive clousers are doing the trick.
Good Luck everyone!!.. Send us your pics to email@example.com !!!!
Stripers are making their way toward our waters. There have been a few reports of some holdovers being landed up in the rivers, however a fresh report coming from The Goose says new schools have arrived on the south side of the Cape. Once those guys get through the canal they will arrive within the week. I am predicting May 12. Just a hunch. Charter dates are starting to fill up. Please feel free to email us if you need anything or stop by the store if you can. Capt. Bob will also be doing more charters this year on the 37' Duffy. Head on over to fattunaguides.com if you need him.
Tight lines everyone. We are almost there.
Trout Stocking has occurred in our local ponds in the Northeast District. Info Here:
